Today, I'm home with a sick little monkey. Actually, CJ's absolutely fine now, but because she got sick at school yesterday, they asked me to keep her home today. In fact, she is so fine right now that she's jumping into a pile of laundry yelling "Cannonball!" It actually worked out well because now I've got some extra snuggle time with her and some time to play catch-up in my craft room! I got to finish up my Mother's Day AND my Father's Day cards! Can you believe how ahead of the game I am? I'll share those cards with you in the next few weeks. I'm really pleased with how they all came out and can't wait to share them with you!
Today I'm sharing a Get Well card I made. I don't know why I made a Get Well card, since no one I know is sick right now, but I had the idea and ran with it! I CASED this card from one I saw on Inking Idaho. If you haven't read her blog, go check it out now--it's fabulous. Go on, I'll wait.... :)
Here's my take on her card. I wanted to add a little interest to the apple image, so I colored it with my markers and spritzed it with a little water before stamping on the paper. I like the muddled, watercolor look it gives.
Recipe:
Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes, Tart n' Tangy
Ink: markers: real red, old olive
Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Real Red, Glossy White, Summer Picnic DSP (retired)
Accessories: Scallop circle, corner rounder, 1 1/4" circle, and 1 3/8" circle punches; Basic Black 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, Bashful Blue brad, water spritzer.
